8-Hour Academic Driver Education Courses 

All students are required to attend eight hours of class. Our class sizes are limited and all "Open" courses have availability. Dates and times are subject to change. One can take the class at either location. NOTE: For students making installments, remember to make your payments & pay your balance to be assigned a driver, and to schedule your driving lessons, etc. Lessons include door-side pick-up from home or school (Wichita-Metro area/suburbs). Students who have not obtained their learner's permit at the DMV will get one through this course. Most students need to exchange this temporary permit for a Photo IP at the DMV. Depending on driving ability, this course takes an average of about 4-5 weeks to successfully complete. Students, which know how to drive or learn quickly can finish at a faster rate. Students, which don't know how to drive, or learn at a slower rate can spread out the driving lessons more, so they can practice more with their parents (in between our driving lessons, etc). For experienced students, which want to finish faster, day times are available to drive during the school year (8:00 AM to 2:30 PM). In other words, a student can move to the front of the line (to schedule driving) if they can schedule driving during the school day, etc. Note: The regular course (14 hours - 8 hours of class/6 hours of driving) is the minimum course to fulfill the KS Driving Requirements to obtain your RL/DL.  Any driving school that quickly passes a student & gives out the Certificate of Completion (after only a half day of class or just 2 or 3 hours of driving) is breaking state regulations & is subject to penalty. For parents, which still have unanswered questions, we will be glad to talk to you before class 7:30-8:00 AM, or over lunch 12:00-12:40 PM, or after class from 5:00-5:15 PM, &/or anytime during the duration of the driving lessons, or you can email us at wichitadriving@cs.com

Please have a proof of the students lawful presence (birth certificate, social security card or unexpired passport) and a proof of Kansas residential address  (Utility bill with your address for minors parents utility bill) to class.

Choose Your Convenient Classroom Location in Wichita

• Our WDS West classroom is at724 N. Country Acres (1 block west of Central & Ridge).
• Our WDS East classroom is at 6115 E. Central  (1 block west of Central & Woodlawn).
  
  Our typical class is composed of 90% teenagers from the Wichita Schools, including kids from #259 Wichita, Bishop Carroll, Kapaun Mt. Carmel, Maize & Goddard, etc. & kids from the Wichita surrounding areas, including Derby,  Andover,  Valley Center,  Park City, Campus/Haysville,  Rose Hill,  Mulvane,  Augusta,  Colwich/Andale, Newton & others.  If you happen to be a high school exchange student , the DMV says you will need a J1 form & an I-94 form & current visa/passport with 90 days remaining in the USA.  If you happen to be a college exchange student , the DMV says you will need an I-20, an I-94, & a current visa/passport with 60 days remaining in the USA.

• You can choose to take our classes from either of our locations depending on your convenience of location.
• Under normal circumstances, calls will be made in approximately 10 days after the class to arrange for the driving times. 
• Students who have not already obtained their learner's permit at the DMV will get one through this course.  Depending on driving ability, this 14-hour course takes about 3-5 weeks to complete.

*NOTE: OUR AVERAGE STUDENT FINISHES THE PROGRAM IN ABOUT 5 WEEKS.

FOR STUDENTS WHICH STRUGGLE AT DRIVING/OR HAVE BUSY SCHEDULES, DRIVER'S ED HAS TO BE FINISHED W/IN 6 MONTHS, OTHERWISE YOU MUST START COMPLETELY OVER, OR TEST OUT AT THE DMV, ETC.
